Bio:
John and his wife Deidre made Kansas City their home in 1987. They have two children Joshua and Jordan.
John began his career in Kansas City working in the medical design field, but soon moved on to pursue other opportunities in the design-build commercial field.
Coming from a family of carpenter’s and lay people, John enjoyed applying his nuts and bolts knowledge with his architectural education. Creating buildings and structures that were appealing to the eye, but also constructable gave John an advantage in the design-build field. Understanding how the pieces went together garnered respect from his peers in all facets of the design and construction phases.
John ventured into his own practice in 1995 with the formation of the Davidson Design Group (1995-2006). Founded on the principals of creativity, commitment, communication and innovation, DDG flourished from a one person shop to a 20 plus person multi-discipline firm.
DDG under John’s leadership was recognized as a premier architectural and engineering firm in the midwest region, focusing on design-build and a team oriented aproach. John’s philosophy of “mutual respect” for all persons involved in the design and construction process, led to partnerships and teams that were not only successful, but have stood the test of time.
Now John teams with Mike Brown and a tenured staff to take davidson-brown into markets and project types that can utilize and appreciate the work ethic and the care that comes on every d-b project. Moving forward, making a difference in the Kansas City area, may sound cliche’, but it is something John is focusing on, and time has shown success is just around the corner..
Experience:
John has been and continues to be involved in a variety of architectural and land planning projects in the mid-western United States.
